End of Life Doula

End of Life Doulas (otherwise known as death doulas or end of life guides) provide support and emotional care for people with life-limiting illnesses. We are hired by either you or your family, and work with both to help you and your family during this important phase of life.

Doulas provide information, local resources and options to allow you to make informed decisions regarding your care. I have collected a wealth of information on health and wellness resources and can connect you with community services that will provide meaningful help. I will guide you and your family on what you can expect at each step of the way. I am here for you to voice your thoughts, concerns and questions. Privacy and confidentiality is respected. Let's work together to build a plan to help you or your loved one to have the best end of life experience possible.

End of Life Doula Services Include:

Emotional and Spiritual Care

I provide emotional and spiritual care for my clients and their loved ones through open and honest communication. I am here to help you work through your thoughts, hopes, fears and emotions during this important time of life.

Planning and Preparations

Planning ahead ensures that you live the rest of your life in a way that best reflects your values and wishes. I will review what support you need now and anticipate your future needs, so that you have the peace of mind knowing you and your family are as prepared as possible.

Connection to Resources

I will connect you with local resources to ensure you and your family are fully supported. I also ensure that you are aware of available government support like Caregiving Benefits and Leave and the Death Benefit.

Family Meeting Facilitation

Sometimes important conversations at end of life are hard to have. I can be present and supportive during family meetings, to help you communicate your care plans and empower families to make decisions together.

Keeping Vigil

During the active dying phase, I will provide support to you and your loved ones leading up to death, so that no one dies alone (unless they want to!).

Custom Legacy Projects

Legacy projects are gifts for your loved ones that capture your essence. If you are famous in your family for your cooking, I can prepare a family cookbook featuring your secret recipes. Have a story to tell? Let's craft a biography or video. Let's brainstorm some ideas together.

Home Organization

If you want to ensure that your loved ones aren't burdened with sorting through all your possessions after you pass, I can help with my organization services. Similar to the Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning, I will help you go through your possessions, keeping what you want, gifting special items to your loved ones, and disposing of things you are ready to let go of.

Non-Medical Therapies

Our qualified team provides wonderful non-medical therapies including reiki (energy work), pet therapy with retired PADS dog Halo, and professional family photo sessions with a photographer that specializes in end of life photography. Please contact me for more information.
